Nice.

Only a matter o' time before it got #1. What more can I say, its situational music. Ring the alarms, the bells, it can fit in a variety of situations and the beat just flows. Diggin' the production too, not too much reverb here and there, pitch bends on the synth was nice, bass is hard to pull off but the bass in this song was banging you barely pay attention to it only after a couple of listens, smart. Ace production. 5/5.

Campbell Chicken Noodle Soup!

...this is what happens when I watch disney on acid. You numb'd my brain, grats. The primal tribe like rhythm of the song speaks to my soul... O.O some freaky stuff you got going here. Its as if the fairy gothmother is talking on the song through one instrument you use, i can't define that instrument sry :(

Good, back to dissonant sounds. :D

Interesting layers, the way you build up the repeating chord pattern starting @ 1:42 is genius, the way it transitioned was phenomenal. And the beat that appears after the transition sounds like a demonic entity about to be released (the kind that slaughtered Bambi...)

The structure was interesting as well. Just two different phases to the song, the repetition of the first phase in the end is something I like to hear a lot. In a way this song was both minimalistic and not (you know things repeated and things didn't.) Kind of like Warhol's Campbell Soup cans, they look the same yet they have different things in them. This is Campbell Soup music. 10/5.

AliceMako responds:

I'm guessing you mean the flute thing? It used to be a percussion loop before i had my way with it x3

No chords involved in that pattern actually, just a slightly distorted ppg sample played in singular notes =D Second round of the kick pattern is the same sample used during the first pattern except with the filter envelope values inverted to give it a different punch so as not to overpower the bassline.

First pattern repeating is indeed same same but different, the second one features three tracks running at different tempos whereas the first only has one.

Andy warhol, undead king of future kitsch seated on his plastic throne going "wrong, wrong, wrong." ? Musta been some acid you dropped <3

it wasn't good. It wasn't great.

It was amazing. This is the type of music i live for. So much fucking atmosphere, so much emotion, a sense of calm and dread at the same time, contradiction... so much going on. I love the structure of this composition, you keep one sound static throughout the entire composition creating minimalistic greatness as well as something to start the atmosphere with. You introduce different sound effects (like statics) and build the song to greatness as it proceeds with these effects. Then you slow it all down by using the electric piano until the song just comes to a chill and dreadful end. At least that's the way i view it. 10/5.

sweet!

Damn talk about flowing. The beat is concrete and well produced (plus there.) The piano and synth sounds balanced the calm side of the song (since the beat made it sound raw near the beginning.) 5/5.

Adjeye responds:

Yeah I know about the beat with the raw beginning, Don't know why it sounded raw, Tho I want to know it so I can control it in my next songs and use it more in my advantage. the Piano was ment to be calming down.

O.o?

No dissonant sounds? wow. It sure does sound nice. Hard to say much about this other than blastin arpeggios repeating in a minimalistic bliss; greatness. The use of tremolo effects and other effects sparkled sweetness into this, but wow this was all consonant all peaceful sounding unlike your other compositions. 5/5.

AliceMako responds:

Yeah i haven't made anything vaguely harmonic in ages since that one ambient track last year.

Instead of splitting the signal i put a seperate synth in the rack just for the sake of routing it to act as an lfo, rather decadent.

Thanks a million <3

Not bad

to start off do something soft, a soft melody. By the time the bass starts feeling low build up, till third half of the song kicks in and the melody goes all full out. Maybe put some pianos (i digg pianos.) Thats all I can give for a melody. 5/5 for the beat. 5/5.

Grageska responds:

I don't know how to create big basses (like Nightkilla's)
wish you could help me, that's the only thing i need

Sweet stuff.

It may not be in your element but it is in your style. I like the fact that it is faster than some of your other tunes because for this song its better, it brings out its feelings. The main melody felt a little weak but it incorporated into the main song well as the song progressed. And it fits the title, it has that feeling of rising up the ranks, and that drum solo with the riffs was nice.

Cmdtrigun responds:

Hey thanks man! There are definitely some things I could do to improve this song but I'm glad you still liked it :)

God that was depressing...

...but nice tune. I love the repeating cry of help with pads building this hopeful sound. As the song increases more hope is put in the listener, this has a kind of choral sound to it mixed with some brian eno and it forces you to listen to it. 5/5.

Thanks, great review :)

Lounge

I digg it. Gives me a feeling of a sunset either on california or england (if they ever get those.) Sucks you in and I can see why, the standard beat is built well with the minimalistic repeating notes, the drum beat is standard not too experimental. The strings are experimental to balance out the beat and main melody, and the melody itself is kept simple. 5/5.

Thank you I really apprecetiate your feedback on this one, have a nice day :)

I view it as more for a game the like of Ys. Needless to say this is concrete! man the drum and bass and a standard like pattern, you pulled it off so amazing. Drizzling some arpeggios here and there, it really gives it that vibe of a classic video game. By now I'm running out of what to say but I love it. 5/5.

kuro-rpg responds:

Ys? Oooh, that is indeed a compliment. :)

For some reason I find this music works when I have a game like Touhou playing in my mind. :p

Still, thanks for your words! ^_^
