uber sweetness

even under the distortion you can hear the sweet progress it makes. The rhythm is top notch just like everyone of your works. I really cannot give you a lower grade because as you hear it again and again you can discover little things (like the arpeggios going from one end of my headphones to another) that leave you wanting more. But for a loop, it will do. Kudos as always.

you are quite gracious, sir.

Reminds me of the secret of monkey island. At the beginning the saw like instruments hurt my ears but goddamn did you build up this song nicely, before I even knew it the whole style switched around. The 8-bit sounds where diggable and a nice addition, this sounds like it will beast more once it is done. Taking a new approach to writing music produces positive results such as this. Well deserved Cinco de Cinco.

kjhsdgf responds:

lol, i made this with a hood on, so the frequencies might be a little high, sorry :P

that's just swell, matey,
thanks

man oh man

Right off the bat i could feel the power of the bass in this song. The structure was magnificent to say the least the way you divided the song kept it interesting like the mixing of rain with the beat felt natural, that trumpet like instrument (sorry if i can't nail it right,) gives it the experimental certificate and the way it moves into those strings....damn.....some really good stuff going on. Once again, mixing the Davis brings original music from you. Grats' on another one, keep em' up. 5/5
p.s. it gave me a sort of Gorillaz debut album vibe.

freddyfinger responds:

thanks a lot efx

It grows.

It picks up halfway through the song which I think its pretty G. As for the sound it oozes of neo-lounge vibe music with some classic techno near the ending mixing in, a splendid combination. I like that quick low to high sound level in the end...now that i think of it it is actually well structured. (pulling a little stream of consciousness there.) 5 Gs out of 5.

kjhsdgf responds:

thanks, G

epic elektro

As epic as all of your songs/loops. The latin is noticeable so congrats on that and the overall song is just fun to listen to.

kjhsdgf responds:

:o thanks
yeah, i try to go back to my latin roots for lat-inspiration.
also, i edited it a little bit, hope you like the tweaks :D

clave are :D

the ending was random and completely different. I liked it thought as part of an enhancement of the original piece. Its like if the ship is falling down after realizing there was nothing there. Kudoz
5/5

kjhsdgf responds:

lol, i couldn't really follow up the first part, as i wrote it under weird, and very unreproducable circumstances.
but i really like the first half, if that matters.
and yeah, that clave, it's so.. off-beat-y

Samplin'

I can't get which Miles is this one but I'm going more for In a Silent Way (it gives that vibe.) Man I love the feelings you get from this song. That creepy like thing and then the slow zen-like feeling with a little bit of sprinkles here and there. I'm liking this as much as your Pharaoh Brew. 5/5. (and, just as a site note, that sound by 3:10ish was awesome.)

freddyfinger responds:

close, it's 'bitches brew'. i haven't heard 'in a silent way' but i heard it's similar to 'bitches brew'. ima give it a listen right now. thanks a lot for reviewing!!

raw

I imagine the Kool Aid mascot bouncing down the street like a juggernaut destroying everything. The melody was pleasing and egyptian-like sounding in some parts. Reminded me somehow of groups like Gorillaz, it had a freeform feel to it also. Only complain is that it could have been shorter but still it was pretty creative. (the ending was somehow funny for me.)

MixyRecords responds:

Yeah you're right. I Hadn't realized how long it really was until afterwords. haha i like your visual for the song. Thanks for listening and reviewing. I appreciate it!!

Congrats

Taking from Miles and making it good is like stealing candy from a steroid-using athlete...It ain't easy!
however this shit is as good as it gets and I think you did do honor to the song(s). The drums kicked in at the right time (hell everything sounded like it came in at the right time,) the hypnotic feeling and the little instances of lounge-like ambient music just skyrocketed this shit into top-notch quality music. Kudos.

freddyfinger responds:

good ear recognizing the sample! bitches brew is some raw shit (i also sampled it on my song 'eagle claw' if you wanna hear it). thanks a lot for the review, glad ya enjoyed it man

Mhh....

I think this one is better than mines mainly due to the fact that it has more going on. A more complex beat, more instruments and a melody as well as a shift (was that a didgeridoo?)

Cuzone responds:

It was a didgeridoo. But well, I'm glad we both like each other's song better than our own. Mutual admiration ftw.
