I...I....

I feel its pain bro...i know what it is to be a cheeseslicer....

Look....

Before this image I thought I was straight...now....I am having second thoughts. "Fucking amazing" is the first thing that comes to mind, mainly because I love the John of war animation and John's borderline nihilistic views on life...great job. Non stop five this. There better be no tuna...

Yep...

I'd tap that.

it's a cupcake decorated with marzipan, raisins, and strawberry jam

Awwww

There isn't anything to dislike or critique on for the purpose of improving so i'll just pick on the good things about the work.
The eyes are great, the different use of colors give it that liquidy feeling of course. The shading is great...oh hell I just like it a lot. That saying "less is more" is true...

gusana responds:

Thank you! I aprecciate it a lot n_n

Thom :D

The shading is great (i mean look at that hair :D) and the eyes came out fine. however when it came to the other parts of the face it wasn't that good. Thom is not the best when it comes to symmetry in the face but I think there was too much thickness and size on the lip and nose. For your first try it went great though, you can always boost yourself up on how great of a job you did shading :D and everything else but the nose and mouth.

Damn...

I always been intrigued by the design of pyramidhead (just the design) and you executed it well here. They shading's just right enough to give the sketch dimension and the veins look so realistic...damn.....however what I enjoyed the most was the shading done to the helmet...your nasty @ shading and that's always a massive plus to sketching. As for the referencing I liked how yours came out better, as I said the way you shade it brought out the wicked parts of the drawing (Cant get enough of the vains.) As for background suggestions keep it minimal, you'd want people to stare more at pyramidhead than the background, perhaps some dark, dim litted-like background with minmal skulls and some shadows of hanging people (impact horror without showing it well its something i digg...)

silversunned responds:

Thanks! :D :D the input is definitely MUCH appreciated, The shading was a pain in my ass LOLOL and the reference pic was hard to get mine down the right way because the reference pic was definitely more Anime-ish and more emboldened by the darker lines, I like to stick to my shading and add the realistic touch, I had to change the fact that he has his sword with him 24/7 and the original it was implied that the sword was in his other had, but I wanted it to be more visual in the picture instead of just Implied (Implications are fun but some people NEVER get them the right way! LOLOL) as for the helmet the guy didn't do the right helmet either I had to research how the actual helmet is supposed to look so actually my pyramid head is an odd mix of the game and the movie one which I'm fine with because the movie one is awesome and so is the game one! :D :D

Lol.

Facial expressions always pack a punch...

Tied

This work gives me the vibes Pre-Raphaelite artists give me. I wont dig deep into the meaning behind the work since it was done free form. The detail is wonderful, having a more concrete outline with non human objects (the leaves and branches for example) and an abstract outline for the human body (perhaps to show the slip from reality due tot the situation the human finds itself in.) The spots on the female body slightly disturb me for some reason, no idea if you meant them as shadows or something else, regardless it is a nice touch. The feeling of despair is oozing out of this...huh is she tied to the other body? I know i didnt want to find meaning behind this but perhaps she wants to break away from the other human. I love this painting overall, the different feelings it gives (mystical, despair, slightly-disturbing) are all executed flawlessly and the details given just ace this (the details on the clothe is just amazing.) Really great stuff

Livin' in the city...

Superb use of blur, there's nothing wrong with using it to focus on the important part of the painting as well as enhancing the look of the work. In the description two people are named (I am guessing the one wearing black and the one wearing white) but I noticed you didn't blur (or at least not so much) the person to the right of the white clothed girl, was there a purpose for this? Past the symbolism and purpose of the painting the work itself is great. As I mentioned the blur technique dominates the painting, the lighting I think is the most important part of the work and its what gives this painting the alignment to a warm positive emotion rather than a plain one given by most of the people in the painting. The lighting feels as if the farther you get away from the crowd the better things are. Shadows are minimal but well executed. I wish I could find criticism but I just don't seem to be bugged by anything in this work. Bottom line...I like art that expresses everyday moments :D
