The game mechanics are after all based on the individual's taste and I fucking loved it. I found myself switching to the tripped out world more because I was in LOVE with the composition. Mad props to Kirby for that one, legit mad props. It was short but enjoyable in my opinion. Not hard or torturing or anything, just pretty much straight forward.
I just do not know why that level was even implemented. I gave up just by looking at it, well no, I gave up after trying too much and being so tired. That being said I haven't experienced the ending yet but I think I covered enough levels to get a feel for what the game in. It was well thought out and I liked how you introduced the mechanics (like the difficulty curve did not kick in fully until the toaster mechanics thing came in.) Pretty solid shit and I enjoyed the artwork put in it specially the grass (had that retro feeling to it.) I'll....go for a 4/5. I wished though that the player could interact with the hallucinations more...but it was done in three days and it was a solid effort. If you do decide to update it, a custom level maker would be pretty legit.
Thanks. (there are 20 levels by the way) i kinda do want to remake it some time later though.
I tell you this sir...
This shit is worse than Heroin. Crack cocaine its this game's second cousin twice removed. To have the capacity of mentally fucking your player with shapes that screw their eyesight, not to mention disrupting patterns and just plain dick moves. Plus that "supposed" 100 dollar price...I've learned a thing or two...
I recently started playing Earthbound and I really dislike him showing up with that music playing...it just annoys me...a lot.
I know right?
But Earthbound is still the BEST game ever
Now to figure out how to put this in the Earthbound section
I think I get what you are going for here. See how long someone can go with this on...but I think you made a mistake...the song is too good! I can leave this on loop for quite a while Agostino's an awesome DJ.
So simple but so damn entertaining. I like the mechanics, reminiscent of Braid. The difficulty curve is just right, introducing different elements as the game proceeds. A huge plus is the creative concepts behind the puzzles (dominos, bungee jumping...not to spoil much.) The composition is haunting, beautiful...melodic and it just gets you in the right state of mind for this type of game. Don't really have any complaints. Solid 5/5.
Comedic "relief" Get it! hahaha...ahhh....black comedy :D
Gameplay, Graphics, and Sound! It has it all...
That formation system blew my mind, essential gameplay for this style of gaming. The game felt right...both the movement and the shots flowed. The difficulty curve felt natural (after every boss the game should get harder...yeah...) It felt as if the game fitted the rhythm of the music and it was just downright fun!
But that formation system...hell yes...
My favorite Game Jam submission so far.
The biggest set back in the game is the difficulty (at least for me.) The way the game showed the concept given is great, funny, absurd but the difficulty hinders it. I wouldn't mind how hard the game is if it had more powerups rather than just the normal charge bar, i found myself charging every other time (not including the stealth planes.) The way the life bar was shown is very creative (by the flame coming out of the giraffe to show the anger he has) the story was creative along with some of the content but the difficulty just threw me off.
Yeah, sometimes it's hard to judge difficulty if you've played your game 50000 times... (But NonPlusUltra managed to beat it with no deaths)
The ending was wicked. Challenging as end bosses should be. Considering that it was made in three days, it was a great job. The difficulty was balanced, however if you get into a groove and your powers wont let go (because you do not fall) then it is a breeze. The end boss just makes up for this though, it was sick!
